HELP! Good Friend just told she is being disfellowshipped!!

hey... a good friend of mine was visited by 2 elders this evening..and after being treated like something you wouldn't want on your shoe...told her that her parents can no longer have anything to do with her 9 year old boy.

he is not baptized.. her dad is an elder and mum a long standing publisher...can they really insist that the grandparents ignore the child??

they babysit for him when she's at work...she would have to leave her job, and she lives in their house too..although they live elsewhere...her dad is researching this as he is obviously curious as to whether this is scriptural.

Its pretty plain that its the old blackmail thing.

If they babysit, then withholding that could make life difficult for your friend.

However, I imagine that after some time, the grandparents would come round and start being available for their grandchild.

I sure know that NOBODY would tell me I couldnt see my grandchildren anymore.

Who knows, it could be the start of the road to freedom for everyone in the family.

PS: the only problem eventually is that they might well try preaching to their grandson........

If you have sex with your spouse after you find out he/she cheated on you, you cannot divorce them.

in the key to family happiness book, the wbts says that if you have sex with your marriage mate after they cheat on you, and you knew it, you cannot divorce them.. i was disgusted by learning that.

i only discovered this recently, but i am very angry.

what if your husand tells you that he'll keep screwing other women if you don't have sex with him?

How Many on JWNet are still JWs?

i've been wondering about this for some time.

if there are 60,000+ registered users on here, what percentage are actual non-dfed or non-daed witnesses?

if it was 1/3, that would be over 20,000 active/inactive witnesses that post and read these pages- and that's huge.

Its hard now but, it stands to reason that you wont always be a JW.

I believe that there is a right moment in life, and when that comes you will know how to seize it.

In the end, one has to be true to himself, not to others. In the mean time, I wish you all good luck,

and a measure of peace.

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses

hi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.

but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.

i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

I think you should listen to him. JWs DO break families. I was in for 30 or more years. I used to say to people that that wasnt true. But I lied. I didnt lie deliberatley, but I lied just the same.

You say that they seem nice, sincere people. Thats true. But THEYRE WRONG. Sincerity is not enough.

More than 70000 people are disfellowshipped each year. Believe me, that for most of them, that screws up their life big time.

If you like studing the bible, there are many oportunities JWs aside. But beware too: there are a lot of dangerous sects. Be careful.

i need to know if jehovahs witnesses are actually told to ....

completly ignore disfellowshipped children and never speak at all to them , also what about the children of the disfellowshipped children that are growing up unaware of the "truth " ?

im thinking of writing to my inlaws who have never bothered with our child for two and a half years to tell them to just walk on by if they see us as it would confuse her if they saw us and acted as though nothing has happened .

then they will be good jws and obediant to the watchtower and not blame us for not letting them see her which is what they lie and tell people !.

i have tried many ways to get them to see the reality of what they are doing but to no avail and now its just too late !

i dont want thier sicko religion messing up my childs mind ever

! like it did mine and my husbands . i now actually want them to ignore us all . and by doing so they will be good jws ! problem solved !

So for those dubs excited about the fact that they had not heard of any conventions planned for 2012, and taking that as a sign that the end is verrrrrrrry near, this must be a blow. They have got to wait until at least april now.
